Michael facilitates the deliberations of the StormFisher Environmental Public Liaison Committee (PLC). StormFisher operates a plant in south London that converts waste into fertiliser, while producing renewable energy. The PLC was formed to allow constructive discussions about the environmental impacts of StormFisher’s facility on local residents. Chaired by Michael since January 2017, the PLC includes not just local residents and StormFisher, but also the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, London City Councillors and the Middlesex-Lambton Health Unit.
Most recently, StormFisher, working with the Ministry of the Environment, has installed ambient air sensors in the area to monitor air quality. Local residents can view the information provided by those sensors in real time through a website finalized in February, 2021.
